Composer, engineer, and producer Derek Black is a sonic visionary bringing his unique blend of orchestral and electronic fusion to paint cinematic soundscapes to support the emotional arc of your visuals.
Derek has a diverse musical background including touring sideman and graduate of Fanshawe College's internationally recognized Music Industry Arts program.Followed by 5 years as an instructor there.
After MIA, Derek dedicated himself to midi+synth programming, jingle writing and session playing at the renowned Electronics Media Arts Studio.
He's honed his craft through acclaimed remix work for artists like Six Degree Records Eccodek and Peppermoth, as well as Dubmatix, Sheila Koh, C0ndu1t, and Kitzl. He remixes under aliases King Infinity and Klark B3nt.
Derek also received a Gemini nomination for his original score for Jihad: Struggling with Islam.
As an in-demand keyboard specialist and clinician for iconic studio equipment brands, Derek has traveled North America sharing his passion for sound and music.

well it's been a bumpy road trying to break into score writing, after many years in jingle writing and remixing.
